GUYY MUSIC

BIOGRAPHY

Award winning guitarist Guyy has combined his love of Australian roots and folk-rock together with a dash of world music to create a toe-tapping, energetic performance.

In 2013 after playing guitar for more than half his life, Guyy took to the road with a guitar, a van full of effects pedals, inspiration and hunger for the world of music. As a young musician his deft guitar work and performances found him a place in the gigging world and he soon found himself on festival stages around Australia. Guyy has since toured internationally to the Middle East and South Africa as well as performed on festival stages around Australia.

Anyone present at one of Guyy’s gigs will know of his keen interest in effects pedals and drawing more out of the guitar than most. Guyy went on to win the Australian Busking Championships 2 years running, also winning a MAMA award for his debut EP.

Guyy teamed up with violinist, Amelia Gibson to form the Folk-Rock and instrumental duo, Guyy & the Fox in 2014. The duo toured and performed in Australia and overseas to South Africa and the Middle East as well as performing at festivals including the Woodford Folk Festival, National Folk Festival and headlining at the White Mountain festival.
